── The care we provide

Dental Care That Looks at the Whole Person

Your mouth is not separate from the rest of your body, and an exam here is built that way. Located just off I-75 in Gainesville, we handle the everyday dentistry most people need, from cleanings and fillings to crowns, bridges, and replacing missing teeth. Seeing the same patients year after year is how Dr. Annas catches things while they are still small, and when something belongs in a specialist's hands she sends you to someone she has known for over a decade and would trust with her own family. Whether you have been putting off a visit for years, you are new to Gainesville and looking for a dental home, or you simply want a dentist who explains things and listens, we would love to be that place.

Teeth stay quiet while a problem is still small, which is exactly when we want to find it. Catching something early usually means simpler, more conservative choices rather than a bigger conversation later.

Services

  • Tooth-colored fillings

  • Curodont Repair for early enamel spots

  • White spot evaluation after braces

  • Replacing worn older fillings

  • Fluoride and remineralization support

  • Intraoral photos so you see what we see

Crowns, Bridges & Replacing Missing Teeth

This is the everyday dentistry Dr. Annas loves most, and it is the part she is most particular about. Your case is planned with a privately owned local lab she can call directly, so the fit and the shade are right rather than fast.

Services

  • Dental crowns

  • Dental bridges

  • Inlays and onlays

  • Crowns and bridges on implants

  • Full and partial dentures

  • Implant-retained dentures

  • Denture relines and repairs

  • Local lab collaboration

Cosmetic & Smile Renewal

Sometimes the change someone needs is much smaller than they expect, so we start with the most conservative option that gets you the result you want. The bigger steps stay on the table for when they are genuinely the right choice.

Services

  • Composite bonding

  • Reshaping front teeth

  • Removing staining and discoloration

  • Porcelain veneers

  • Teeth whitening

  • Replacing dark older fillings

Comfort & Anxiety Care

Dr. Annas would rather know how you feel about dental visits before she starts than find out halfway through. Knowing in advance is what lets the team give you more time, more explanation, or a quieter appointment.

Services

  • Nitrous oxide in every room

  • Oral sedation

  • Breaks and slower pacing

  • Blankets and the living room

  • Sports guards and retainers

What Our Patients Are Saying

── Meet your dentist

Samantha J. Annas, DMD

Dr. Annas is a Florida native who grew up in Pensacola and decided at eight years old that she was going to be a dentist. She is a third generation dental caregiver, since her grandmother was a dental assistant and her mother a dental hygienist and educator, so she grew up in dental offices long before she worked in one. She graduated as valedictorian of her high school class, studied at the University of North Florida, and earned her DMD at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, where she received the HU-Friedy Golden Scaler Award and spent her school breaks on Christian dental mission trips to Guatemala.

She spent nine years at a Gainesville practice she never planned to leave. When the culture there changed and people stopped coming first, she stepped out in faith, joined an established practice as an associate, and took ownership of it. She named it Transformation Dentistry, a name that had been sitting in her heart for years, because the transformation she cares about usually starts before she ever touches a tooth. It is the moment somebody who has spent years taking care of everybody else decides they are worth taking care of too. She thinks of herself as a primary care dentist: she handles your everyday dentistry, and when you need a root canal, oral surgery, or orthodontics, she sends you to a specialist she has known for over a decade and would sit in front of herself.

What patients notice first is not the dentistry. It is that the front of the office is a living room rather than a waiting room, that there are blankets if you want one, and that nitrous oxide is available in every room, even for a cleaning. Dr. Annas puts intraoral photos on the screen so you are looking at the same thing she is looking at before you agree to anything, and she writes out what she calls a honey-do sheet so you can see what genuinely needs attention now, what might become a problem, and what can honestly wait. She bought a white coat once because she thought dentists were supposed to have one and has never worn it. In her words, she is a normal person who happens to know dentistry, and you are a normal person who needs somebody to help you understand what is happening in your mouth.

Questions Patients Ask Us

Is Transformation Dentistry accepting new patients in Gainesville?

Yes, Transformation Dentistry is accepting new patients in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Samantha Annas is the only dentist in the practice, which means the person who examines you is the same person who treats you and remembers your history at your next visit. We see adults, children, families new to the area, and University of Florida students who need a dental home while they are here. You can request a visit using the form on this page or call the office at (352) 331-4080.

What if it has been years since I have seen a dentist?

You are in good company, and you do not owe anyone an explanation for how long it has been. A lot of people apologize before they have even told us their name, and nobody here is keeping score. Dr. Annas is not sitting there wondering how you let this happen, she is working out what is going on and what can be done about it.

We start with where you are today. After a full exam, you get a written plan that separates what needs attention now, what could become a bigger problem, and what can honestly wait, so you are never handed a long list and left to figure it out. We can go as slowly as you need to.

What does out of network mean at a dental office?

Out of network means the practice has not signed a contract with your insurance company, so your care is planned around what you actually need rather than what a plan has agreed to pay for. It does not mean we ignore your insurance. Transformation Dentistry is an out of network practice, and we still submit your claims as a courtesy, track them, and help you understand your benefits.

It does mean there can be a difference you are responsible for, and we are never going to pretend that does not matter. What we will do is show you what we see, explain why we are recommending something, give you options where they exist, and help you prioritize if everything cannot happen at once. If you want to talk through your coverage before you book, call us at (352) 331-4080.

Can I have laughing gas for a cleaning?

Yes. Nitrous oxide, which most people call laughing gas, is available in every treatment room here, and you can use it for a cleaning if that is what helps you get through the appointment. Oral sedation is also an option when it is appropriate for you.

If you are nervous, tell us when you book rather than trying to hide it. Knowing in advance lets the team give you more time, explain more, or simply check on you more often. Some patients use nitrous for their first few visits and then decide they do not need it anymore.

Is there a way to treat a cavity without a drill or a needle?

For certain early spots that are still within the enamel, there is an option called Curodont Repair that supports the natural repair process in that weakened area, with no drill and no needle. It is one application and it does not suit every situation, so it has to be evaluated case by case, and it is not a treatment for decay that has progressed beyond early enamel.

It is also worth asking about if you noticed white spots on your teeth after your braces came off. This is a large part of why regular exams matter to Dr. Annas: the smaller a problem is when she finds it, the more conservative the options tend to be.

Does Dr. Annas do root canals, oral surgery, or braces?

No, and that is on purpose. Dr. Annas provides your everyday general and restorative dentistry, and she refers root canals, oral surgery, and orthodontics to specialists she has built relationships with over more than a decade in Gainesville. Her rule is that she will not send you to a chair she would not sit in herself or put her own family in.

Those colleagues are teammates rather than alternatives, so you stay her patient throughout and she coordinates your care. She also screens for signs of sleep apnea and airway problems and will guide you to the right provider, though the practice does not treat sleep apnea itself.

Where is Transformation Dentistry located, and what are your hours?

Transformation Dentistry is at 220 Northwest 76 Drive, Suite A, Gainesville, FL 32607, just off I-75 on the west side of town, which makes it an easy drive from across Alachua County including Newberry, Jonesville, Alachua, Archer, High Springs, and Micanopy. There is parking at the door.
